You must be half way through Swann's Way, at least! Cecilia my dear....

Oh, I could tell you about a Chateau Clos Fourtet 1983 that I was served in
the Chateau du Marc amongst Veuve Clicquot's of such great years as 1985
(the Rose), 1990 (La Grande Dame) and 1991 (the Vintage Reserve).... The
folks who were pouring were almost embarassed when their little bordeau
almost blew three of the great vintage champagnes of the century out of the
water.... But what did they expect.... OK, I'll take burgundy. (hic!)
(Scottie DID say that I was drinking too much....)

And I'm ever so sorry about those Cubs.

Cheers, mixed with tears,

Paul

OSR--Mattis' *BRILLIANT* post from this morning (I'm sending this now since
I think I can be confident that he's gone home for the evening....) raised
interesting issues about people's personal reactions to both Sybil and
Miriam in APDFB.... Am I alone in confessing (with a certain amount of
trepidation that it will betray my fundamental shallowness) that I sort of
hated BOTH of them on first reading?
