I would have a problem with this. The character only exists

That's a good question and I'll do my best to try to explain. What I don't
want is the reader to have have to read a specific novel to get something
out of the story. Haven't you ever wondered what happened to Holden after
CIR? as if his life continued? Haven't you wondered the same thing about
other characters? These are the questions that I want to address -- more
universal like. Not "Why did you do this?" or "Why did you say this?" sort
of ones.

Does that make any sense at all?
