'Gillis Broadmore' isn't any one single person/character. The first
sentence of the story (right now) reads: "The hero of our story has asked me
if he could remain annonymous and after much deliberation he has arrived at
'Gillis Broadmore' as his psudonym."

So we never find out _who_ Gillis is except that "I can assure you, though,
that if he were to use his real name you (the reader) would tear through the
words of this page with such a ferocious excitement that it would end up as
letter-confetti before you eyes. You see, Gillis Broadmore is really the
chief character of one of the most wildly read and successful novels in the
history of America."

So there is no specific _who_ -- which is what I'm trying to accomplish. Am
I, in my own head, using a character as a model as I write? Sort of. More
of a composite of a few characters from a few novels.
