Interesting post, I had forgotten about the Kama Sutra.
However, for every ten people who can recite the KS theres about one Nietchze. Someone who doesnt use their energy via sexual outlets but instead philosophizes!

Granted, im in no way advocating that route but it interests me, as there seems to be a pattern here.

Also, thanks for pointing out that "try something funny". I forgot about that. Salinger really makes an effort at pointing out inadequacies in this department..my theory has to do with Bessie and her role because Muriel does not resemble Bessie in the least. They are complete opposites.
