Well, Chris, I thought the painting was terrif.
It strikes me as the grandson of one of those
ominous Nordic conversations that Munch
liked to freeze our marrow with - same vigourous
drawing, same colour values, but with its own
absolute individuality. Jolly good.
But which scene? The grey haired dame is
a little too old & a little too little for Mrs
Antolini & Mrs Spencer doesn't ever sit down
- as far as I can discover. Which perfectly obvious
bit am I missing?
