Hello all,

i've been silent for quite a while, but i thought i would speak up on this...

i'm in school right now, and this is the first i've heard of joey ramone's death. i must say, it's pretty upsetting. i'm no hardcore punk chick by any means, but there's no denying the influence the man had on music, and society in general. that and he made some pretty great music. it could indeed be the end of an era.

i don't think punk is dead though, i just think it's gone further underground. i think the most unlikely people are the real punks--or rather, the people no one would normally call "punk". a guy i know once said "real punks wear blue jeans." it's true. dying your hair blue and wearing spikes does not a true punk make. a few of you have said it already, it's all in the attitude. so maybe punk as we once knew it is dead, but the mentality is still there, it's just hiding.

as for this "orginization kid" nonsense, i think it's just that, a bunch of nonsense. i'm 17 and i can still feel the holden caulfield in me. i hope i can feel it for a long time. i'm not flunking out of high school or running away from home or anything, but i'm definately not conforming. and i'm no delinquent, but i've got some mischief and rebellion going on. i don't get along with my parents all too much, and my family thinks i'm insane, so i suppose you could categorize me with the rest of american teenagers. i don't think any of us are typical, but there are some things that don't change, no matter what generation you happen to be a part of.
