"Here's what I see "fostered in a setting of financial security,
educational
priviledge & family connections": greed, laziness, a lack of
understanding
of the needs of the underprivileged and poor, the belief that your
family
and their friends are capable of anything and maybe even above the law,
and
the conviction that you really are better than everyone else (which is
exactly the conviction that you're defending)."

My experience with the priviledged has been the opposite. Those I've met

from the truly great American families (e.g., Kennedy, Weyerhauser,
Dupont,
Pillsbury, - NOT bourgeiousie families like Bush) have almost all been
decidedly left of center.

It the self-made, self-righteous, new-money man that is obsessed with
himself and his money, and votes his interests against those of the
common
good.
