Hi Bananafish!

In researching a paper on Nabokov I found a comment about A Perfect Day for Bananafish--thought it might be of interest. In his essay, Inspiration, he writes, "This is a great story, too famous and fragile to be measured here by a casual conchometrist." And he then singles out the passage of "genuine afflation" as Sybil running from the hotel beach "stopping only to sink a foot in a soggy, collapsed castle."

Bye!

Midge
