Speaking about translation, last week *Die Zeit* published
a review of a new translation of Catcher:
*Der Fänger im Roggen* tr. by Eike Schönfeld.
Kiepenheuer & Witsch, Köln 2003.
Bernd, are you out there? Have you read it? It is allegedly
caustic and sharper than Böll's mild version. It portrays
Holden as a teenage misanthrope and a tragicomic hero,
a young Quixote with uneven moods.
Saludos,
Diego D.
