Aristophanes was an intellectual by any measure, yet he wrote The Clouds
(read it if you haven't -- he's on your side). Perhaps what Jim is
endorsing (or, if he isn't, perhaps what ought to be endorsed) is an
intellectualizing of the the people and an anthopocizing of the
intellectual.
