Actually, at times I'm a compulsive rewriter, almost Ginsbergian. Even these
little missives get revised a few times before anyone sees them.
But I could never manage a phrase like "roguish - but, could I say, ever so
slightly self-indulgent - way." I'd be afraid of my prose mirroring its own
voice in too embarrassing a manner.
I'm glad you have no such concerns.
