Daniel, on the other hand, was ascribing to a large and diverse group of
people a narrow set of personality traits. His original comments were
essentially no better than saying all blacks are dishonest or shiftless.
 The nature, structure, and source of his original comment was almost
exactly parallel to the example I just provided.

Of course Jim, where your analogy breaks down is when you compare traits
that are not related to choices to traits that are the result of choices.
Apples and oranges. Both fruit but not the same thing. People who fancy
themselves as intelligent often ascribe to themselves the superior position
in a discussion, notice I used the word often and It is not tied to any one
profession nor does it mean that the person has to be actually smart which
of course is tied to the definition of smart. You keep re-characterizing
what I say to suit what you want to say. I don't know if that is a break
down of communication or meaning or what but I'll answer your previous post.
