William Chinda typeth: > "Imagine a world where the only crime is falling in love! > [ Some woman saying something, probably a scene from the movie ] > Brave New World! NBC in two weeks!" i just found this at nbc.com... hopefully they did a good job of it. Sunday, May 3, 9-11 p.m. ET BRAVE NEW WORLD (TBA) "Brave New World" is the story of a man and woman’s fight for freedom, dignity and love in an increasingly technological society. The provocative and cutting-edge novel, written in 1932, predicted the rise of television, the sexual revolution, genetic engineering, Prozac, virtual reality, and much more. Its amazing predictions, and the shocking truths about the direction society is heading, have made it a literary classic, a catch-phrase and a common point of reference in the media. The story takes place in a future century in which the great nations of the world have joined in partnership to avert wars threatening to destroy the planet. This "Brave New World" is chillingly rational and scientifically enlightened: children are conceived and born in high-tech factories, raised under conditions deemed ideal in order to insure that every person will be healthy, happy, socially responsible and productive. As a result, the civilized world is free of crime, disease, fear and pain. Within this garden of delights, Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne are beginning to feel pangs of uncertainty as their feelings for each other grow in a society that worships promiscuity. Their lives are even more disrupted when they meet John -- a "savage" -- a man of depth and feeling. The world premiere movie is from a Dan Mazur ("Scarecrow") and David Tausik ("Killer Instinct") teleplay with Dan Wigutow (NBC’s "The Beast") as executive producer and Michael Joyce (NBC’s "The Beast") as producer for HOF Productions Inc. "Brave New World" will be distributed by Universal Television Entertainment.
