Define "the amateur reader." Is that someone who reads without =
considering what he is reading, without wanting to think about or =
discuss the material he reads? I know, I know, JDS says it is =
someone "who just reads and runs," or something, fine. Why are you =
on this list then, if you are so devoted to amateur reading. The =
difference between what we do here, self-important or not, and the =
machinations of the autograph seekers, is that we discuss =
Salinger's works within our own forum without trying to involve or =
pester Salinger the individual in any way.
