Depressed:

I'm curious: do you think there is a correlation between "liking"
Catcher and Cobain?

On Nirvana music: I was never fond of it. I can't comment on the
lyrics because I never took the time to read them. Musically, they were
inventive and seemed to incite a reaction from listeners, often an
emotional one. However, I've always been interested in truly memorable
(and inimitable) melodies. In this regard, I don't think Nirvana makes
the grade. Can you imagine the Boston Pop's covering Cobain? No, but
you can with the good ones (e.g. Beatles, Paul Simon, Dylan). For all
the hype, Nirvana's music strikes me as something any number of us could
have churned out of own basements if we took the time to do it.
