I was thinking after reading bananafish the other day, why hasn't
anyone made short films from the salinger stories? Doesn't salinger
allow it?
Bananafish could make an excellent short film, because it's told in
the third person, so in the book you don't read the characters
thoughts.
That's why you couldn't make a catcher movie.
You would have to have a massive voice-over for the whole film, to let
the movie-goers know what he's thinking, because that's the essence of
the story. and there would have to be lots of flashbacks and stuff. so
it would probably suck!
Esme could probably be turned into an ok short film too.
If someone would make a short film for Bananafish, who do you think
should play seymour?
