> I agree with Will, guns are > not a necessity. Give them up. > > Morgan I agree 100%. You can't argue entirely that it's because America's a young nation, or because of its race problems, because those are the same problems we have in Australia and more - but there's one thing that we don't have, and that's America's antediluvian gun laws. I hear people from the gun lobby say `well, you want to ban guns? Why not ban knives, too? They kill people.' To which I argue: knifes cut steak and butter bread. Guns are killing machines, plain and simple. When I went to America and saw people openly walking around with guns in holsters, my blood ran cold. I thought `What if I were to get you angry? Or if I happened to be in the way when you were angry?' It's not fair that I should be in a sense placing my life in the hands of a complete stranger like that. People in America have to know that the Second Amendment does *not* say: anyone can have a gun. It says: organised militas who are fighting off the English can have guns. It's just so anachronistic, it's unbelievable. As I see it, this matter will only ever end at the supreme court if someone is able to prove the fallacy of this amendment. And with a tragedy like this, there is nothing to stop those people who have lost their children and friends to take a class action suit out about it.
