Unfortunately no further information is written in those books. But I 
think ARECHI-SHUPPANSHA has legal rights to publish the stories. 
It is a pretty famous publishing company in Japan. It publishes the 
stories of Fitzgerald, Hemingway too. And Mr. Stephen Foskett says 
it is a legitimate publication in "Bananafish Home". But it is certainly 
odd Salinger let them publish only in Japan.
