    At this point, Will, we have to call in our friends masquerading
    as innocent bananafish but obviously sleepers from the GRU.
    (Amazing how the training has fallen off in recent years. You'd
    think they'd manage to conceal at least the worst of their socialistic
    instincts.)

    But I'm pretty sure I WAS wrong. I'd been going for what seems
    the commonest version: 'Fedor' - & unwittingly put in that extra
    'o', presumably by unconscious extension from 'Theodor'. I guess
    I've seen 'Fyodor'. I wonder if all Englished versions are to some
    extent personal & capricious transliterations from the Cyrillic?

    We'll ask You Know Who.
