<< PS: I do think we struggle in different ways but most humans don't
really "play" at life. Yes, I know there's a lurking Shakespearean
who is going to say life is a stage and play on "play" from verb to
noun, and I too love to play with words...but life is not often a
lighthearted game for me...sometimes I wish it so, but it's not. >>

So: if being a game requires lighthearedness, then life cannot be a game.
But, if we suppose that being a game only requires rules (Dr. Thurmer's
reasoning seems to rely on life's having rules) then we might say that life
is a game (after some discussion of life and rules). Again, we need to
agree about what gamehood requires before statements about the gameliness of
life can be true or false. And if you use as evidence that most people
don't "play" at life, then we need to understand that word, too.

Although I'm sure I'm taking this too seriously.
