To think that there's a guy who did a movie called "Monkey Business" whom I
don't know about! I know Charlie H., & Marky Mark, and I know Ron Reagan
(he did "Bedtime for Bonzo," which may in fact be a movie about a
politician), but good ol' Archie slipped past me. John Cleese's character
in "Fish" was named Archie Leech though (probably a reference), so I'd like
to hear it from Scottie that I was totally wrong, if you don't mind. The
reference to that movie might even be a pun in itself. I wouldn't put it
past him.

No, no, no. Scottie is referring to Hollywood's best exemplar of the
dashing, tall, dark, handsome, suave, cool, funny male. Archie, perhaps
better known as Archibald, has co-starred with just about all of the
important leading ladies of the 30s-60s: Audrey Hepburn, Katherine
Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly, Ginger Rogers, Marylin Monroe,
Ingrid Bergman, Frances Farmer, Mae West, Marlene Dietrich. A few of my
favorite Leech movies are Bringing Up Baby, Monkey Business, and The
Philadelphia Story.
Does anyone know if he ever did a movie with Bette Davis?

Are you referring to John Cleese's character in "A Fish Called Wanda"?
I'm
not too sure he could really handle such a role. Maybe Archie Bunker?
How
about Alistair Sim or Charlton Heston ("It's a Madhouse! A
Maaaaaaadhouse!")?

You bastards caught me with my computer down
& my leather mask newly tightened.
As Clarice Baader will gladly attest, my debonair
& peculiar magnetism could only ever have been
approximated by one man - the late Archie Leech.
Scottie B.
