Any large community of readers (@unc, reportedly approximately 3,500
first year college students) is going to produce a percentage of
people who will complain about any assigned text. The fact that this
selection caused such a stir is, in my opinion, a pedagogical
windfall. Vigorous discussion about reading one text can help
classmates bond. I wonder if students are discussing the reading at
their bars, I really do. will
