I don't know about that metaphor Cecilia...I like to think that when
I publish something, I have found a home for stuff so that it will
leave me alone and let me get onto other stuff...in other words, I
don't connect what people see in the writing to what they may see of
my underwear and self when I publish...it's not me, it's just my
words, and publishing let's me get to a place where I can imagine I'm
done with those particular words. But actually you are right...words
haunt writers no matter what! will
