This article has some interesting demographics about male/female ratios
at Simon Fraser University:
http://www.peak.sfu.ca/the-peak/2000-2/issue4/ne-gvb.html
English classes -- maybe 20 males in a class of 75. English tutorials
-- 2 men to 10 women.
Computer science -- maybe 8 females out of a class of 40
Philosophy -- males make up 2 out of 3 people in the program.
What's really interesting in these statistics is that women make up the
majority in most majors:
> According to the statistics - which are based on the 1998-1999
> academic year, and include undergraduate students intended or approved
> into a departmental major or minor, as well as graduate students -
> female students outnumber males in 20 of the 29 departments at SFU.
The description of this school is very similar to my own experience.
