So, the original pistol wielding Seymour is a rilke mystic (colored by
eastern thought? and post war French phantom wives) and teddy is the
superlative (approx 30 pages) vedanta 'here I come ready or not', the drop
into the pool mystic? And then Hapworth is Teddy reconciled revisited?

bananafish comes out of the inverted forest. the
similarity isn't between bananafish seymour and teddy,
but ray ford.

bananafish predates jds's love affair with things
eastern. there isn't anything to speak of eastern in
jds's work until teddy. teddy is jds's i pledge
allegiance to vedanta.

teddy and the glass saga seymour, however, are
questing for a similar goal.
