now see, i like that.

one day salinger thought seymour glass was a more clever name than holden
caulfield, so he says screw these caulfields, they're too fucked up! i'm
going to create a family of glasses that every one will be able to clearly see
through because of my detailed descriptions of every crease and fold of their
hearts. enough mystery, i'll just lay it out plain and clear!

Thanks much for the correction....I've only read the story once, so some
of the details may slip. Maybe the creation of the Glass family made
the literary rehabilitation of the Caulfield family unnecessary?
