Tim, I just called to reserve my copy of the mag but here in colorado,
that means maybe by friday...nonetheless, from what i've heard pre-pub and
gather from your response, the real nugget is that mr. salinger is writing
books! Assuming he's not gonna try a kafka, there's new salinger writing
perhaps even with new Glass family members or more about our loved ones in
any case...that is wonderful news!

I've been reading _Here But Not Here_ by Lillian Ross and found some
wonderful salinger-shawn stuff...did we know that mr. salinger was god
father to Ross's and Shawn's adopted son? Also, that is was mr. shawn who
fought most of the new yorker editorial staff to publish zooey?

One thing about the Maynard piece though that I must take issue with even
before reading it...anyone claiming to have a memory/perception that is
documentary in acumen creates great doubts in this poet's mind.
