Whoa there Scottie, with talk like that, you'll have us all feeling like Zooey when he says "I feel like those dismal bastards Seymour's beloved Chuang-tzu warned everybody against. 'Beware when the so-called sagely men come limping into sight.'" I love the limping expression, it again reminds me of that wonderful article titled "Salinger's Feat" (by John Russell, Modern Fiction Studies XII (3), 299-312), which simply, quite wonderfully, draws attention to how often Salinger refers to feet, ankles, and balance as indicators of people's emotional balance and how they naturally connect to the earth and wider world.
