I remember there was something about the performance and the emotion...that was beyond simple schmaltz. Just a short addendum to this earlier posting: It was SO SIMPLE a word to remember – I just couldn’t come up with it yesterday morning since it felt like I’d imbibed a glass or two of wine (I didn’t) before I came into work. What I also couldn’t put into words in ‘59 but probably felt was the *integrity* (I might have called it “being so serious” back then) of the performance by the Platters. Their performance really gave the song meaning. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
