I'll give it a whirl, thanks for the > tip. Riveting cover letters, like any good writing, are hard to produce. But they get attention a lot faster than most any unsolicited manuscript. And they don't breed contempt or police attention (hint: don't say anything about "unabomber" on an envelope if you expect a sane or well-balanced person to open it). The other approach is more of a challenge, but isn't everything else about writing your heart out? --tim
