D, you are quite right about the 3 first editions of RHTRBC&SAI.  I have
the tipped in edition (ironically, stamped "Discarded by US Air Force")
which is the second first edition, as well as the third, which was the
proper first edition.  The tipped in editon has the dedication after the
first title page (without author) and is fairly valuable.  The first first
edition (the one without any dedication) is very rare and therefore
valuable to book collectors.  I'd snap one up if I could, but I'm not
lusting and when I think about it, it's one of those things that seems
silly to value.  Of course some day people may say that about humans who
loved paper stained consistently with ink...will
