Hello all, my name is billy hot chocolate and I've been a member for about
six months. I've just been a lurker all this time, but this damn survey has
sucked me out with its addictive cheezy ways. I'll spare the usual
introduction post (or maybe I just did that) cause I figure the survery
should be more than enough.

1) 10 of your favorite authors and/or books
Fitzgerald-Gatsby
John Irving-The World According to Garp
Mick Foley-Have a Nice Day
Michael Cunningham-The Hours
Arthur Miller-Death of a Salesman (I know it's a play, but if you read it in
American Lit, i'm afraid I'm going to have to count it)
Tony Kushner- Angles in America (both)
Jane Austen-Pride and Prejudice
Hemingway-The Sun Also Rises
Ronald Dahl-Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Salman Rushdie-Haroun and the Sea of Stories

  2) 10 albums you can't live w/o(name of artist and
  album please)
Weezer-Pinkerton
Sonic Youth-Daydream Nation
Beck-Mellow Gold
Bis-This is Teen-C Power
Beastie Boys-Paul's Bouttique
Sleater-Kinney-Dig Me Out
Velvet Underground-the album with "After Hours" on it
Hole-Live Through This
Weezer-The Blue Album
Liz Phair-Exile in Guyville

  3) 10 of the best movies you can think of.
The Goonies
The Ice Storm
Rushmore
The Big Lebowski
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
Chicken Run
Being John Malkovich
I'm From Hollywood
Toy Story (too tough to choose between them)
Beaches (what, I gotta spice things up a little)

  3) favorite place you've travelled to.
I'll avoid the trend of saying New York when I live here, so I'll have to
say Disney World- God, that's really disturbing for some reason.

  4) Gore, Bush, Nader, Buchanan, or other? or none of
  the above?
Well, I was one of the millions of Americans whose voice was not heard in
2000, I didn't register in time, so...oh well. But about the whole Gore in 04
thing- it's not that I don't like the guy or think that he might make a
decent president. But were any of us really that thrilled with the guy to
begin with or are we just so scared of the DubbaDubba

  5) astrological sign(hey, I'm curious lol)
I'm a virgo, but what I really wanna know though is- were you really laughing
at loud when you wrote this? I mean, I'm not saying that the whole asking
your sign thing isn't humorous, but laughing out loud, I'm just suggesting
that maybe it's a bit of a stretch.

  6) if you were reincarnated as an animal, which one
  would it be?
I think I'd be a bunny- all sexual implications aside, I swear.

  7) are you Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Agnostic,
> Hindu, Buddhist, Athiest, Agnostic, non-practicing,
etc... etc...?(if you can't decide, do you believe in
things like an afterlife, God(s), etc...?)

Well, I was raised Catholic, but I gave up going to church for Lent one year
and haven't really looked back. I guess I'm an Agnostic- I'm rarely sure
whether I want an Eggo or a Chocodile in the morning, so how can I really
expect myself to figure all that shit out?

  8) favorite work by J.D. Salinger
Hmmm- probably the toughest question here. I think I'll be boring and say
Catcher. Has anyone picked Bananafish- that'll be my backup answer if they
haven't. I just figure it would be kind of crummy to not give a shot out to
the story that you guys titled the list after and all.

  9) character you most identify with in Salinger's
  works

Since I was kicked out of my teenage years recently, I'm afraid I might not
be allowed to say Holden any longer. I'd have to go with Franny, although
that tends to scare me quite a bit because I get nervous that there's some
kind of breakdown lurking right around the corner, just waiting for me to
fall into its prey.

Well, first post wasn't so bad, I'll try to contribute something productive
next time around though.

thanks for listening
