Dear Billy,

I've never seen a pink-hued Tom Collins. And, um, I've seen my share of Tom
Collinses. They're made with a shot of gin, a shot of sweet and sour mix,
and soda water. (I've also seen the sweet and sour mix replaced by lemon
juice and sugar. It's not as tangy then.) Almost-- but not quite-- like a
Seven and Seven, for anyone who's had one of those. Usually they'll garnish
it with an orange or some other fruit. And almost always, it's served in a
tall skinny glass. It's got a limey sort of taste, a perfect light drink
for a hot summer's afternoon.

And definitely not a drinking man's kind of drink. It's been a while since I
read "Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters", so I don't remember if it's
stated directly that Buddy is not a drinker, but as he managed to get drunk
on very little of this girly man drink, one can surmise that from the text.
Anyone have the book handy?

Regards,
Cecilia.
