Hi all,
English is not my mother tongue, so I may be blabbering. But I
always thought that 'counting the house' has something to do with
casino's: black jack players count the house if they keep track of all
the cards that have been dealt and base their game on that. With
regard to Esme, it would mean that she knows incredibly well what's
going on around her. In fact, I always really liked this line because
of that.
Of course, the only way that I could have heard this expression
would be in Hollywood movies...
By the way: I really appreciate the insight I'm getting into the
feelings and opinions of Americans. Who would've thought Weezer
was this popular? (and also the political thing)
