Hey Fishes!

I'm heading off for a Christmas in Cuba (yeah, I know, Scottie...) with
three generations of women who are intimately important to me--my
80-year-old mother, my wonderful wife, and my 15-year-old daughter.

I'm deeply disappointed that the venerable republic south of the 49th has
selected an immoral cretin to lead the free world through the next four
years. I'll just have to close my eyes, and ears. And I don't think it's
really worth wasting water here in the bananafishbowl worrying about what it
means, or whether we'll survive.... We will.

How GREAT to have Matt back online! (even if from TexASS)

How great to have Cecilia breaking new academic turf!

How GREAT to have energetic new fish-fry!

How great that the Bluejays have a $70 million dollar budget for next year
(twice their budget from the previous year, and almost half of what the DAMN
Yankees pay those mercenary bastards in pinstripes....)

Wishes for 2001:

May Jerome come to his senses, and start to publish all the stuff that most
of us have already read....

May there be peace in the middle east.... (if only because I'm supposed to
go there soon....)

May Jerome come even further into his senses, and start to publish the
mountain of manuscripts buried in that vault in Cornish....

May the world find a cure for AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, diptheria,
Altzheimmers, yellow fever, measels, mumps, and chicken pox....

May Jerome enter the bananafishbowl for two hours, on or around his
birthday, next year--allowing us all to kiss his toes and ask him questions....

May all the bananfishes be happy!

Cheers,

Paul
