is this cautious behaviour of Cold fish typical of a Republican, or of a former employee of the Bush empire, or just a tragically fascinating facet of coming from the Litigating Society?

Boy, does this individual take every precaution possible? Maybe not so strange, in light of the Warners Bros bullying of 11 to 15 year old KIDS out of their Harry Potter FANSITES .....
Not, mind you, sites which tried to cut copyrights or any such behaviour, but real fansites, by real children.
We, the Eurepeans, sit back in amazement and enjoy the spectacle, as always.

There...that said...
Now that Napster is gone, several new P2P file sharing alternatives have
popped up in its place; and like the many-headed Hydra, each is more
powerful than its predecessor. Specifically, Bear Share and Morpheus allow
you to find and share text files in addition to music.

I know of a man who, it is said, used just such technology to search for
text files with 'Sallinger' in the title. This brave individual discovered
that 95% of the files he found were for Catcher, but, undaunted, our
intrepid Sallinger-phile persevered and eventually found the 22 Uncollected
Stories and downloaded and printed them (about 150 pages).

They were a bit of a mess (some spelling errors, occasional missing
punctuation) but were free, or so I'm told.

How did this individual feel about the stories? Well, it is said that he
found a few to be on par with anything in 9 Stories, a few to be decent
reads and the rest to be about average. In short, he is said to have felt
somewhat relieved to know that JDS is in fact human and was capable of
publishing a few pieces of fairly unremarkable work at one time.

More than anything, he is though to have felt that the stories give some
interesting insights into the development of the Holden character, as he and
other Caulfield family members appear in or are referred to in a couple of
stories which, while written before Catcher, take place before and after the
action of that book.

Then again, this mysterious individual probably doesn't even exist-- such is
the nature of legend-- so please bear that in mind when considering his
experiences.
