Well, from my relatively recent trip to Dublin, I do know that the Vikings
founded the first settlement that eventually became Dublin, but the Celts
had been there living in trees long before.

It's sort of like saying Columbus discovered America, methinks.

Anyway. If I'm not mistaken, they built the Dublin Corporation building
right smack on top of the settlement site. There was a big hoo-ha over
this when it happened and they excavated extensively (which is possibly
why your museum had so many artifacts), but archaeologists believe that a
great deal is now permanently buried. Scottie can correct me if I'm wrong
on any of my facts, since these are my vague recollections of a walking
tour I took in the company of a handsome Trinity scholar.
