Sounds like that individual read the stories and did a pretty fair
assessment. I was able to read a copy of Ocean Full of Bowling Balls at
the Princeton Archives and found it to be a pretty decently written
short story about Allie's death -- and it shed some interesting light
and provided some nice details about the Caulfield family. You meet
Mom. You meet Allie. It's cool.

Overall, I think Salinger was exercising decent judgment not
republishing all those stories, but some I wish were more accessible...
