Actually, Jim, I keep hearing the same argument from those who claim to have
seen UFOs, experienced God, heard angels whisper or that there are
melancholy choo-choo trains ... but I'm digressing.

My point was merely that only because you "know" because you "still have the
same problem" yourself does not necessarily translate to others also being
afflicted by the same.

Far be it from me to suggest anything like that about Scottie - imagine!-
but in this case I wouldn't infer "not trying hard enough" as the reason for
his alleged inability to grasp something.
