Hi, Matt. What part of town are you in? Also: I know a couple of
people who are recruiting, and I'd be delighted to put you in touch
with them (or at least the one with whom I am most friendly) if you
could tell me what you're looking for. (Would the question be,
"What's your specialty?" the way we used to ask, "What's your
major?"?)

Cecilia indicated her availability, and I'd be delighted to get
together whenever you're free, if you're interested. But regarding
MLA, my friend is at the University of Tampa, Florida
(www.utampa.edu, I believe), in Humanities, but I don't know yet what
the job is. If you get this and want to look him up, his name is
Andy Solomon. His specialties are Shakespeare and fiction writing,
and he's a swell guy. I'll mention you to him as well, so that one
way or the other perhaps we can get you guys together if you're
interested. If you happen upon him, tell him I pointed you his way.
He doesn't read the b'fish list but knows of it, if you need a frame
of reference in which to open conversation.

As for the second person I know who has an opening and is recruiting,
I need to dig out more info and can send it along. She's at the
University of South Florida, is (coincidentally) also a Shakespeare
person, and at this instant, though I know her well, I utterly cannot
recall her surname. Her given name is Lisa, and I'm mortified at
forgetting the rest, but will find out.

If you want to reach me about going out & such, you can get me at
home by phone: 212.989.7351. I suppose I'll wait to hear from you.
I hope you won't think it presumptuous of me to play matchmaker, but
if you are looking and there is anything I can do to make it work
out, that would be wonderful. Oh, BTW, if you call at home and I am
not there, my cell number (also a local NYC call) is 917.915.3024.

Best regards,
