Since Daniel asked...

Daniel writes, in mock interest:

"Wow, was that the concluding line of his dissertation?"

"Here, now

                         a glas tolls

                               striking a glancing blow

between the edges of a text

and leaving:

Many years later What remains"

Daniel,

You can download the whole thing in PDF form at
http://www.hydra.umn.edu/derrida/omlor.html and see for yourself if anything I say in those 490 or so pages
of prose contradicts what I have written here.

In fact, I think's it's a fairly apt example of what I do with texts rather
than measuring and ranking them.

All the best,

--John

PS: Yes, the final line is laid out in that manner on purpose, and yes the
last line of the citation is also the two first lines of two books.
