yeah, but, what are we going to do about which issues?  The divisions, say,
over the abortion issues are so deep that BOTH sides are willing to break laws
to enforce their agenda.  The pro-choice side has the advantage, at present,
of not needing to--but I promise that abortions would Still be provided
underground, by many doctors, if abortion on demand were ever made illegal.

Last time we had divisions so deep was over the slavery issue--and you see
what happened there...eesh....

In all the cases you mentioned we would have the victory of a majority over a
very, very large minority.  That makes for a large population of pissed off
people no matter what side is reflected by the law.

I think we need to start on where we agree.
