I was in love with a Muriel Glass once, I think we all were. They're the
people who don't know what it is they understand but are still capable of
knowing that there's something refreshingly good about the people who
can.
Seymour always liked noisy girls...and when it comes down to it, Muriel
is like a child. She's got the attatchments to her mother, the need to
play dress up...Seymour says that Muriel is in love with the institution
of marriage, more in love with playing house. She's a female "manchild"
who's got the innocence because she's been overprotected of any
corruption by her mother, as well as anything else....and still loves Seymour
for showing her, from a distance that she can observe but not comment on,
what its all about. And when she doesn't want to see it, she can laugh
and just call him silly...and paint her nails.
