There are different kinds of success, Camille, and success is defined differently for people and institutions :) And differently for different kinds of institutions. An individual human being does not have to be wealthy to be successful. A nation has to promote the wealth of its citizens to be successful. That's part of its reason for being, in my opinion--in a Marxist or a Capitalist paradigm. PART of its reason for being, not all :) Therefore, a nation that generates megabucks is successful on at least that level :) A nation (government, etc.) that allows its people to suffer poverty on a large scale is a failure.
