I'm a little bit pressed for time just now (personal business), and can comment more later, but I'll offer these little facts as puny evidence about why you shouldn't have to worry. * I own and operate "roughdraft.org" -- so there is no danger that any outside entity is going to come along and pull any rug out from under our feet. I hate having that happen, and try to avoid it. * The monthly cost is negligible -- about $5. * The labor is minimal; I keep a tight look at things to avoid things going wrong and that the traffic goes through cleanly. * As I've said publicly and privately, I don't consider this to "my" list. I'm just a caretaker, and if I get run over by a bus, you can always start the list elsewhere. The archives are public material, so all the old data is out there. * It's not a lot of work (remember that while I have the heart of a writer, I also have the wallet of a writer, which is pretty much empty from publishing payoffs), because I have a Real Job in the computing biz, so the technical matters are no big deal and work their way seamlessly into my daily life. Speaking of "daily life," I have to go deal with it. I'll probably be slightly out of touch for a day or two due to a family emergency, but will be checking in irregularly. --tim o'connor
