Ed,

I've never been to Brighton, but in the North (which is where I really
hail from) we are big on beer! Our local Arts Centre runs an annual
folk and beer festival sponsored by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale)which
is absolutely fantastic. Indeed, our arts centre is totally cool
altogether. It is full of strange characters who could could have come
straight out of the pages of a novel: a cross dressing line dancer; the
"Colonel" who greets everyone with the words "carry on!"; the tiny
bald headed alcoholic who constantly quotes the Goon show... More
Pynchon than Salinger, perhaps, buta very satisfying environment.

Ah, sweet England, land of real ale and eccentrics.

Love and Old Peculiar,

Lucy-Ruth
