You don't know the half of it. I live in a province that is currently
controlled by a golf pro who makes Hitler look almost like a liberal. He's
declared war on welfare bums, which means that there are thousands of street
people currently camped out on the streets of Toronto. It's been a warm
winter, so far. I predict about two thousand human popsicles before the end
of February.... But the book burners have been around almost forever--even
before Mike Harris was elected Premier. In certain counties, they've
actually succeeded in banning books from the high school curriculum--books
like CATCHER, or a wonderful Canadian novel called STONE ANGEL, or even (I
kid you not!) HUCKLEBERRY FINN....
I once thought that Canada was the best place in the world to live (and the
UN consistently says that it actually IS!) At this rate, it won't be long
before I'll be shopping around for another address....
