I'm living in Madison, NJ now but I grew up in LA county, in Cerritos, right 
on the border of Orange County -- next to Anaheim and Disneyland :)  

If you come over here any time soon buy:

1. Large warm coat
2 Thermal underwear
3. Warm gloves
4. snowboots or overshoes.  I have a nice pair of overshoes that my wife says 
make me look like "I'm going trekking on the moon or something."
5. Scarf.
6. Something to cover your head and/or ears, but especially ears.

Good luck :)  The roads where I am were designed with a Spirograph.  It was 
much easier to find your way around So. CA, where the same One Road goes for 
mile after mile.  If you get lost you just look for a name you know and head 
west :)  Out here, forget it :)
