>NYU: offers a complete major in film/dramatic writing >with many internships at local playshouses, miramix, >HBO, SNL, etc.. yeah, but NYU also has its setbacks. It's English department isn't that good, it's home to the biggest bunch of phonies and assholes I've ever seen in New York (why do you think there's a K-Mart and Starbucks and Barnes and Noble right on Astor Place???) >New York doesn't have the >beauty of nature Yes it's true that we can't compete with the mountains and lovely green hills of California, but New York does have its sights. Do the New York tourists ever leave Manhattan? There are parts of Brooklyn where the parks stretch out three miles along the waterfront...there are parts of Staten Island (away from the dump), there are places that, yes, surely don't hold up with "real" nature, but I wouldn't go as far to say that New York doesn't have the beauty of nature. A lot nicer than Detroit or Cincinatti... then again these points are fairly late to the discussion, especially after Jim's "comparing the two is pretty useless." comment... sorry.
