i'm a female who loves holden. sadly, this is a little bit of a problem. my
love for holden and my search for holden-esque males has all but precluded
actual relationships. i'm pretty sure that this is neither normal nor
healthy. any feedback?

linny

ps. similar problem with john lennon

not to worry miss linny, i most certainly tend to cripple non-existent
relationships with the ever present search for a holden-like male. i also
do not think that it is at all unusual to love certain characters from
different novels. after all, it is much safer that way. and besides, who
can actually take those darling boys from school seriously after reading
about someone like holden? but i agree, it does become quite the problem.
the same goes for the characters in mr. kerouac's novels...just too good.
has anyone read "Nalda Said" by Stuart David? now there's a character.
and i see now that i have forgot to add that yes, i am new to this list. you
see, i am usually classified as a "lurker" on lists such as this one, but i
must have banged my head harder then i thought while tobogganing tonite.
bye bye
